Joanne Walby has more than 15 years of experience writing and editing for publication for non-profit organizations as well as four years in the A/E/C industry. She began her writing career as a journalist in Cairo, Egypt covering business and economic trends. Later she transitioned into business development positions in the A/E/C industry, including at an environmental engineering firm that produced environmental and social impact statements for development projects in the Middle East and North Africa. After returning to Seattle, she served as a proposal editor for construction engineering projects for WSDOT, Sound Transit, and proposal writer for the winning Alaska Way Viaduct demolition. Joanne is a versatile writer who takes pride in crafting clear and compelling narratives. As technical editor at Confluence, she enjoys working collaboratively with authors to ensure technical materials are accurate and easy-to-read.
