Job Title: SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Position Type: 40 hours/week
Hourly Rate: $80,000 – $150,000 annually, DOE

Job Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will lead and manage environmental planning and permitting efforts for a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects. This role includes responsibility for project schedules, budgets, client and agency coordination, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with planners, biologists, engineers, agency staff, and teaming partners, and will mentor junior staff while supporting successful project delivery. This position is well suited for an experienced project manager who is comfortable navigating NEPA/SEPA processes, permitting frameworks, and critical areas codes while managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as project manager and primary point of contact for clients and agencies
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables across multiple projects
  • Lead and/or coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including internal staff and subconsultants
  • Oversee preparation and review of permitting as well as NEPA and SEPA documentation, including technical reports and environmental review materials
  • Manage regulatory compliance efforts at the local, state, and federal levels, including critical areas codes
  • Coordinate with transportation agencies, municipalities, and infrastructure stakeholders
  • Facilitate and attend client, agency, and public meetings
  • Identify project risks and proactively manage schedule, budget, and scope changes
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
  • Support proposal development, scopes of work, and cost estimates as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, planning, or permitting
  • Demonstrated experience managing environmental projects as a Project Manager
  • Strong working knowledge of NEPA and SEPA processes
  • Experience with environmental and urban permitting and critical areas codes
  • Experience working on transportation and/or infrastructure projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel regionally for meetings or occasional fieldwork (mileage reimbursed)

Job Title: SUMMER INTERN
Position Type: 30-40 hours/week, Temporary, flexible start date around June 2026
Hourly Rate: $22/hour

Job Overview:
Work collaboratively on a variety of natural resource (freshwater and marine) and transportation projects. This individual will support project managers on a variety of tasks, which may include research, field work logistics/planning, field work (e.g., wetland/OHWM delineations, mitigation monitoring, eelgrass surveys, dive surveys, etc.), report writing, GIS analysis, and assistance with permit applications. Additionally, this individual will support administrative and office support tasks as needed.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in fieldwork in a variety of outdoor settings and conditions.
  • Support projects with research and data collection.
  • Create maps and figures using ArcGIS.
  • Assist with miscellaneous administrative and office support tasks.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or a related field. Master’s degree and/or appropriate certification (e.g., UW’s Wetland Science and Management Certificate Program) preferred.
  • Familiarity with freshwater and/or marine environments in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS (creating maps and figures).
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work occasional long hours on field tasks.
  • Ability to navigate rough terrain in all weather conditions for field tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to manage time effectively.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of transportation, infrastructure, and natural resource projects.
